Help Foster Kids Just Be Kids!

Now more than ever foster youth need our help!

Foster youth have been greatly impacted by COVID and we anticipate more youth will go into care this year.

A child enters foster care every 2 minutes often times with just the clothes on their back and separated from their siblings. Foster kids enter the system not due to something they did, but due to their parents inability to care for them. Many have experienced the effects of abuse, neglect and poverty or have lost their parent to death or incarceration. It's no wonder foster children experience higher rates of PTSD than our Veteran's and repeat a school grade twice as often as other students.

With a nationwide shortage of foster parents, and stipends that don’t cover the essentials of a growing child, many children have never owned a new pair of shoes, clothes, or had the opportunity to participate in sports or music. Aging out of care is especially daunting as they are left on their own to find housing and employment, without the funds, education, guidance or safety net that would allow them to succeed.

How you can help:

Please donate and help foster kids beat the odds. I'm raising funds to help provide foster youth with essential items they need to succeed, fit in with their peers and help alleviate stress off of foster families. Items like new backpacks, school supplies and laptops are especially needed. Did you know 70% of foster youth do not have consistent and reliable access to a computer? Other essential items that are greatly needed right now are new clothing, shoes, fun toys for the summer and gift cards for groceries and emergency needs.
